How does a stairclimber differ from a stairlift?

A stairclimber is free-standing and completely portable. Its use is not confined to the stairway. It is not fixed to the building structure in any way. A stairlift is secured to the wall or stairs and can only be used within the scope of its transfer rail.

A stairclimber can be adjusted to suit both the operator and passenger for optimal comfort and safety in use. The standard version can accommodate small children through to adults up to 135kg. Versions are available for larger passengers. Almost any suitably trained person can operate a stairclimber.

Being portable, they're not fixed to the staircase, so 1 stairclimber can be used from top to bottom in a townhouse, and/or take you outside if you have steps to or in the garden, driveway, street (NB subject to assessment by one of our trained professionals). And they can be used away from home too!
