Mobility and postural care prescription are among the most complex areas covered in providing support for client daily living. For one family, it’s been simple.
Answering their child’s changing needs has been made as painless and stress-free as possible by utilisation of a holistic approach.
Initially prescribing an S-Max stairclimberhttps://www.aatgb.com/s-max/ with car seat to accommodate the boy’s needs when an infant, we have now re-visited the family to re-assess its suitability as he has grown.
We have accessorised the S-Max with a Universal Backhttps://www.aatgb.com/s-max/ in place of the car seat, which will provide appropriate safety and support through to adulthood.
The OT prescribed one of our Bath Bagels https://www.aatgb.com/bagel/was prescribed to give him support in the bath and allow him to float independently.
Our Chilli Bean https://www.aatgb.com/chilli-bean/infinitely-variable posture cushion has given him a day-time seat that can be minutely adjusted by the family to accommodate his comfort.
As part of the process, we have trained the parents so they can adjust the equipment to deliver safe, pressure-free support as their son needs, even as those requirements change by the day/month/year.
“It’s been a huge relief that we’ve not had to keep explaining the problems we’re trying to address. Even the OT team has changed.
“AAT has been the one constant, that knows, understands and has been able to deliver something that makes daily life so much more comfortable and safe for us all. What works for my son one day may not the next ; the flexibility of the AAT kit, and its ease of adjustment, which WE can do, makes a world of difference to our daily life.”
